Paysera expands green energy capacity with record production and new solar power plants
Record energy production results
The 1.5 MW solar power park in the Vilkaviškis district generated 1.7 million kWh of green electricity last year – 12% more than in 2023, and the highest amount since the park was acquired at the beginning of 2023.
This positive trend continues in 2025. During the first four months of the year, the park generated 513,000 kWh of green electricity – a 5% increase compared to the same period last year.
Expansion plans: two new solar plants
Paysera plans to further expand its green energy capacity and is currently finalising the installation of two new solar power plants. The first plant, located on the rooftop of a business centre at Savanorių Ave. 178F in Vilnius, is designed to meet the building’s energy needs. Excess electricity will be fed into the national grid, while a state-of-the-art 100 kWh battery system will store part of the energy to ensure a stable and reliable supply.
The second plant, built as a solar park in the Vilnius district, will supply green energy to affiliated companies as well as other interested users, expanding access to renewable energy.
"Investments in green energy are a natural stage of our growth, demonstrating that financial technology and sustainability can go hand in hand. We are proud to contribute to building a cleaner future and developing an independent energy network," says Marijus Plančiūnas, CEO of Paysera.
Fully powered by renewable energy
Paysera now meets 100% of its daily electricity needs through renewable energy sources. This includes both office operations in Lithuania and the server infrastructure necessary to provide fintech services.
According to M. Plančiūnas, the company's ongoing investments in solar power plant efficiency and new installations are expected to further increase the total volume of green electricity generated.
"This initiative reflects our deep commitment to responsible business practices and environmental sustainability. We believe that every company, regardless of its industry, has a role to play in driving positive change for society and the planet," says M. Plančiūnas.
According to company data, the electricity produced in the Vilkaviškis solar park in 2024 helped avoid approximately 447 tons of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions – equivalent to the amount of CO₂ absorbed annually by over 20,300 trees.
